Now Playing Vinyl Record stand - Oak & walnut

This "Now Playing" record stand is entirely handmade from oak and walnut and can hold most sizes of record jacket.

While listening to records I often thought it would be fun to have a small stand to display the cover of the record that's currently playing.

I wanted to make a stand which is both a functional music accessory but is also a attractive piece of home decor which is why I decided on this very nice oak and walnut design.

This record display stand is made from solid oak which is a very nice and extremely durable wood.

I cut an angled housing joint into the base to hold the back panel which supports the record jacket and a decorative angle on the back edge of the base.

Please note: as wood is a natural product, the grain pattern and colour can vary somewhat from piece to piece. 

The lettering is made from European walnut which has a deep brown colour and contrasts nicely with the oak stand. This leaves a bold and beautiful "NOW PLAYING" sign directly under your record sleeve.

Finally, I gave the entire piece a couple of coats of shop made shellac with a final coat of a shop made beeswax mixture. 

This is a really cool accessory for a fan of vinyl records and would make a great gift!
